Scarlett Johansson 'lost herself' in difficult past romance
Actress Scarlett Johansson once hit "rock bottom" fawning over an "unavailable" lover.
The Avengers beauty is now happily married to French journalist Romain Dauriac, the father of her baby daughter Rose, but Scarlett reveals years ago, she let an unsuitable man get the better of her emotions.
"Long, long ago, I had someone in my life who was forever
unavailable... but, like, so attractively unavailable," she smiled
to Cosmopolitan magazine. "You have to get to your breaking point -
rock bottom is the moment when you're like, 'I've lost myself. Why
am I standing outside this bar at 1:30 in the morning texting while
my friends are inside? Or taking a taxi to see him at some ungodly
hour? This isn't me.'"
The actress forced herself to turn her back on the complicated
situation and she insists that's the only way to deal with
difficult suitors who are never there when you need them.
"That is the moment you've gotta cut it off," she warned.
"Otherwise, it will keep coming back, suck your blood."
The 31-year-old doesn't name names, but she has enjoyed a string of
high-profile romances over the years.
She dated actor Josh Hartnett from 2005 to 2007, and then wed Ryan
Reynolds in 2008. The couple split in 2011 after three years as
husband and wife, and he went on to marry Blake Lively in
September, 2012.
Scarlett was subsequently linked to Sean Penn and advertising
executive Nate Naylor in 2012, before finding love with Romain
later that year (12). They tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in
Montana in October, 2014, a month after the actress gave birth to
little Rose.
