Anne Hathaway is a first-time mum
Anne Hathaway has given birth to her first child.
The Oscar winner and her husband Adam Shulman welcomed a baby boy called Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman on 24 March (16) in Los Angeles, according to E! News.
"The baby is extremely healthy and is surrounded by friends and
family in Los Angeles," a source reveals. "Anne and Adam are
ecstatic to be parents."
The Les Miserables star, who wed Shulman in 2012 after four years
of dating, has been open about her desire to become a mother ever
since the couple tied the knot.
In 2013, she told Vogue magazine, "Oh, my God. I want to be a
mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely. I think
about it all the time, though it's a silly thing to think about
because the kind of mother I'll be depends on the kind of children
I have. I can't wait to meet them."
She also told The Telegraph she and her husband were open to expand
their family via adoption, telling The Telegraph, "I'll start with
one healthy kid but I'd like to have a few naturally and adopt. I
gotta get on it, you know? I'd like to have as many (kids) as I can
afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want
to make sure each one feels special."
Despite being candid about her desire to become a mum, Hathaway
didn't confirm her baby news until January (16), when she took to
Instagram and posted a photo of herself posing in a two-piece red
bikini on a beach while cupping her hands around a large belly
bump.
She added the caption, "Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends
(sic)!... So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for
me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being
photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in
the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy...
Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead!...
Annie."
