Robert Pattinson relates to Cosmopolis character

Robert Pattinson sympathised with his billionaire character in new movie Cosmopolis because he too has formed a close relationship with a bodyguard out of necessity.

In the film, the 26 year old plays the role of money manager Eric Parker, who develops a strong bond with his security detail.

And Pattinson, whose celebrity has taken off since the release of Twilight, can easily relate, admitting the life of a star can be quite lonely.

He tells the Associated Press, "Some of the stuff with the bodyguard (I can relate to), because when I'm doing press and stuff and when I'm working I have a bodyguard who I get really close with. There's a very specific relationship and that was one of the things I kind of got."
