Rihanna to be honored with first ever Icon Award

Rihanna will be honored with the inaugural Icon Award at this year's American Music Awards.
The Diamonds singer, who will also perform at the event on 24 November (13), will be recognized for her profound influence over pop music across the world.
The news comes just days after the R&B beauty scored her 25th
top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, tying her with Elvis
Presley.
Her new hit The Monster - a collaboration with Eminem - is also her
45th Hot 100 entry, tying her with Mariah Carey.
The Icon Award will be Rihanna's seventh AMA.
