Rihanna evacuated from hotel over fire fears
Rihanna was evacuated from her London hotel in the early hours of Wednesday morning (26Jun12) over fears a fire had broken out.
The star is staying at the posh Corinthia Hotel while in the U.K. capital but was turfed out of bed after an elevator motor began to smoke, setting off the building's emergency alarm.
The singer and 300 fellow guests were moved onto the street while
firefighters carried out a check of the building to ensure it was
safe for them to return.
Rihanna jumped in a cab rather than wait, uploading a snap of
herself on Twitter.com looking tired in the back of the London
taxi, along with the caption, "Roamin da streets since 6am. Fyah in
da telly (sic)!"
She then added a picture of a fire engine parked outside her the
hotel.
A representative for the hotel says, "It was an unfortunate
incident but we were pleased with all the co-operation of hotel
guests and how staff dealt with it."
