Rihanna auctioning off 2014 Christmas tree at Diamond Ball charity event

Rihanna is putting up her sparkling 2014 Christmas tree for sale as part of an auction for her second annual Diamond Ball charity event.

The Diamonds hitmaker will front the black-tie fundraiser in Santa Monica, California on 10 December (15) to help raise funds for her Clara Lionel Foundation.

As part of the benefit, she will also auction off a number of personal items, including a 400 pound abstract Christmas tree which the singer put up in her home for her holiday celebrations last year (14).

Created by artist Jorge Morfin, the tree consists of five separate units covered in black ice crystal mesh fabric with over 20,000 faux black ice crystals.

The Rihanna-signed item is worth an estimated $15,000 , but the starting bid on auction site Paddle8.com is $6,000 .

Proceeds from the auction and the event as a whole will benefit Rihanna's foundation, which she launched in 2012 to help communities around the world improve their "quality of life, health, education, arts and culture".

Comedian Kevin Hart is set to host this year's (15) Diamond Ball, with Lionel Richie slated to perform.
