Ray J weds Princess Love
R&B star-turned-TV personality Ray J has wed his fiancee Princess Love.
The One Wish singer, who infamously co-starred in Kim Kardashian's Kim K Superstar sex tape, exchanged vows on Friday (12Aug16) in Los Angeles, a rep for the singer confirmed to People.com.
The couple wed in front of 150 of their closest family and friends,
including Ray J's sister Brandy, who served as a bridesmaid for
Love. The Grammy-award winning singer also sang Etta James' At Last
during the pair's first dance as newlyweds.
"I just want her to have the time of her life and remember it as
the best day in the world," the 35-year-old J told People.com ahead
of the nuptials. "Even when I wasn't with her, I told my friends
'She the one, she the one.' It was just something about how I felt
when she was around me."
Love, who wore a beaded Lazaro ball-gown for the ceremony, gushed
about her groom, "He's the only person I've ever been with that I
couldn't see myself without."
Rapper The Game was one of Ray J's nine groomsmen, and the bridal
party walked down the aisle as R&B singer Anthony Hamilton sang
his hit The Point of It All.
"It was never a dull moment in planning and designing Princess and
Ray J’s dream wedding," the couple's wedding planners Darryl Wilson
and Diann Valentine said. "They wanted a royal, elegant and
enchanting reception fit for a princess and prince."
The wedding, which was a black tie affair, was filmed for their
reality show, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, which will premiere on
Monday (15Aug16).
Ray J proposed to the 31-year-old with an 8-carat halo diamond in
December last year (15), just months after she was reportedly
charged with domestic abuse and battery.
Love allegedly beat up Ray J in February, 2015, leaving him with
cracked ribs, a split lip, and a torn ligament in his knee.
However, all was quickly forgiven and the singer bailed his lover
out of jail and covered her legal fees.
Despite singing at her brother's wedding, and being bridesmaid for
her sister-in-law, Brandy revealed she was initially angry after
finding out about the couple's engagement on television.
"I think they've been engaged for a while and they saved it for the
reveal of the show that they're on together... but I was really
irritated with him," The Boy Is Mine hitmaker told news show Access
Hollywood Live in December (15). "I went, 'Dude, I'm your sister,
why didn't you tell me you were engaged? I'm talking about it
everywhere, people are asking me and I don't know anything about
it.'
"I called him and said, 'Ray, I'm going on a talk show tomorrow, I
need to know what's up. Are you really engaged, because I don't
wanna look stupid'. So he told me."
"Ray's a very private guy," she adds. "He doesn't tell me
everything. All I know is they're in love and they're going
strong."
