Pretty Little Liars star accuses Taylor Swift of 'false feminism'
Pretty Little Liars' Troian Bellisario has been left "appalled" by Taylor Swift's "false feminism".
The 30-year-old actress is most famous for playing Spencer Hastings in the hit TV show, and was asked during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine to weigh in on the recent feud between Taylor and Kim Kardashian. The pair has been battling on social media following Kim's allegations that Taylor is lying about not having given her blessing to Kanye West's track Famous, which name checks the singer in a derogatory manner.
Asked which side she is on in the feud, Troian struggled to answer,
telling the magazine that she is entirely against what she has
called Taylor's "false feminism".
"I’m so appalled by what I consider to be her false feminism,"
Troian continued. "It seems like she’s this person who’s like,
‘Sisterhood!’ and then she does nothing but tear down the women
that were once her friends."
The actress added that she also doesn't want to pledge her
allegiance to the Kardashians. The family has become household
names through their reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians,
but one person who definitely doesn't tune in every week is
Troian.
"Oh god, I have such an aversion to the Kardashians because I
literally don’t understand people’s obsession with them and I don’t
want to accept them as our closest thing to a royal family," she
continued.
"So is it possible to just be, like… this is a two-party system
that I don’t want to be a part of? Can I just say that? Can I say
that I would choose the Green Party in this?"
Taylor's feud with Kim and Kanye reached a new level when Kim
released footage of what appears to be Taylor authorising the track
on her Snapchat.
And as he performed at Drake's concert on Wednesday night
(27Jul16), Kanye referenced the feud for the first time, telling
the crowd: "All I gotta say is I am so glad my wife has Snapchat.
Cos now y’all can know the truth."
