No early release for Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Incarcerated boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has had his request to be freed from jail early on health grounds turned down by a judge.
The undefeated champion checked into prison in May for a three-month stint for a domestic violence charge, but asked to be released over concerns jail food and water was putting his fitness at risk.
However, Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa denied the request
in a Las Vegas court on Wednesday (13Jun12), insisting he was
turning down meals and water that was available 24 hours a day.
In response to the fighter's claims he's unable to exercise while
behind bars, she said: "While the physical training areas and times
provided to (Mayweather) may not be consistent with his prior
regimen, he is indeed provided sufficient space and time for
physical activity if he so chooses."
