Nick Jonas tried to woo Rihanna

Nick Jonas tried to flirt with Rihanna but his attempt to pick her up failed.

The former Jonas Brothers star has been enjoying the single life since he split from beauty queen Olivia Culpo last year (15) and has been spotted on dates with actresses Kate Hudson and Lily Collins.

They aren't the only stars Nick has had his eye on - he tried to woo Rihanna, but his attempts failed. However, he stills feels confident he laid the groundwork that could work in his favor in the future.

“I flirted with Rihanna once," he tells Britain's The Sun newspaper. "It didn’t work – but it didn’t NOT work. It didn’t go anywhere but it was a great conversation. It laid a good foundation...

“She smells amazing, that is one thing I can tell you. Everyone says it but I have actually smelt her now and it’s amazing."

During his interview with the newspaper, the 23-year-old revealed that he had been on dates with Lily "a couple of times" and called Kate "amazing" and a "beautiful spirit" but has been "truly single" for the past year.

“I’ve enjoyed meeting different people and spending time with people with all the cards on the table," he says. "All people need human interaction at some level. And at my age too, dating is important, getting to know yourself by meeting different people, seeing what it’s all about."

Nick guest edited the publication on Thursday (26May16) and sent a Snapchat to model Karlie Kloss during his day at the office. He was also full of praise for Karlie, saying, “I love her, she is a sweetheart.... She is very intelligent. She is going back to uni soon."

He also admitted he was also tempted to go to university to study English in Chicago, Illinois but didn't because "I really don’t like to read.”
