Nathan Sykes delayed debut solo album twice to perfect songs

Former The Wanted star Nathan Sykes put the release of his debut solo album on hold twice so he could perfect the songs.

The 22-year-old singer was expected to release the record last year (15) and even his label bosses were convinced the project was complete.

"The album's been finished twice, and then unfinished," Nathan told Billboard. "The first time I finished, it was the label really thinking it was finished, and I was like, 'No, not yet. I need to go back to L.A. to write a couple of songs'.

"Then I decided (at the) top of the year that I wanted to write a couple more songs, because I've grown up a lot since I started writing the album."

An official release date for Nathan's as-yet-untitled album has yet to be announced.
