Miss Colombia signs with Sofia Vergara's manager
Miss Universe runner-up, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez , is aiming to make her mark on Hollywood by signing with the manager masterminding Sofia Vergara's skyrocketing career.
The model and TV host shot to fame after presenter Steve Harvey incorrectly called out her name while announcing the winner of the Miss Universe title at the Las Vegas beauty contest last month (Dec15).
The red-faced comic revealed he had made a mistake seconds later,
and the crown was then taken away from Gutierrez and handed to the
real winner, Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
Gutierrez recently slammed event bosses for the way the gaffe was
handled, revealing she was so embarrassed by the incident, which
was aired live around the world, she "cried a ton that night".
"In four minutes, they destroy your dreams; they throw it in a bag
and they throw it in the trash," she raged to Spanish-language TV
network Univision. "They could have done it another way. I feel
like it doesn't matter to them, the feelings of a girl who has
worked her whole life for a dream."
Vergara had been among the first celebrities to offer her support
to her fellow countrywoman after the Miss Universe flub, and now
the 22-year-old stunner has hired the Modern Family star's manager,
Luis Balaguer, to oversee her career and help her capitalise on the
big break, according to LatinGossip.com.
