Miley Cyrus: 'Health crisis was not a drug overdose'
Miley Cyrus has fired back at ongoing reports her April (14) health crisis was sparked by a drug overdose at a press conference in London, where she resumed up her Bangerz world tour on Tuesday night (06May14).
The pop star had to scrap a series of dates last month (Apr14) when she was hospitalized following a severe allergic reaction to medication she was prescribed for a sinus infection.
And her plans to start the European leg of the tour in Holland last
week (02May14) suffered a setback when doctors refused to give her
permission to travel.
The tour got back on track in London on Tuesday and at a media
event before the show, Miley boasted she was "the poster child for
good health" before addressing one reporter's question about the
overdose reports.
She snapped, "I'm feeling good, I'm alive, so that's f**king
awesome... I've been laying down for three weeks. I'm gonna go off
- I'm like a star waiting to explode.
"I didn't have a drug overdose. I took some s**tty antibiotic my
doctor gave me and I had an allergic reaction. I already had a
death in my family so my immune system was already low."
The Wrecking Ball star pulled out of a scheduled gig in North
Carolina on 7 April (14), after admitting she was struggling with
the death of her beloved dog Floyd the week before.
