Mila Kunis shuts down reporter's Ukraine question

Pregnant actress Mila Kunis is refusing to talk about unrest in her native Ukraine, because she doesn't want to make headlines with her political views.

The Ted beauty was promoting her new romantic drama Third Person during a recent phone interview with reporter Stephen Whitty from The Star-Ledger newspaper in New Jersey when he attempted to broach the subject of the ongoing civil unrest in the Eastern European nation by touching on her background.

Kunis, who moved to America with her family when she was seven, did not appear to appreciate the line of questioning and coldly responded, "I've talked about me moving to America in a hundred interviews.

"It's the most mundane subject possible, it's like everyone's immigrant story. It was much harder for my 13-year-old brother, it was much harder for my parents."

She then continued, "I know what your next question is so let's just skip it. You're going to ask me what I think about what's going on now in Ukraine. Just because I lived there until I was seven doesn't mean I identify with Ukraine."

Kunis then attempted to make amends for her rude reply telling Whitty she just wanted to promote her new film.

She explained, "It just seems weird to do an interview about Third Person and then it becomes about Ukraine, and that's the headline. I do interviews and they seem like they're supposed to be one thing, and the writer has an idea, and then they become something else."
