Miguel makes surprise performance at former middle school

R&B star Miguel received a hero's return to his former middle school on Friday (19Feb16) when he made a surprise appearance at a talent show.

The Grammy nominee was the surprise performer at Dana Middle School in San Pedro, California, and in a video posted online, young fans started screaming after the curtain was lifted and Miguel appeared before them, standing in the middle of the stage with a microphone.

He sang his hit Adorn as excited fans rushed the stage to get a closer look at the former student. Miguel also performed Simple Things, before helping school staffers hand out prizes to the winners of the third annual talent show.

Miguel later took to Instagram to post a photo of himself performing in front of the teens, writing, "visited my old middle school for this years talent show tonight. crazy, I always loved the smell of the auditorium and it was exactly how I remember it.

"Huge shout to all the students, parents, family friends and staff. Loved every moment."
