Matthew McConaughey cried on wedding day

Matthew Mcconaughey broke down as his wife-to-be Camila Alves walked towards him on their wedding day - because he suddenly realized he was the Prince Charming she had dreamed of as a little girl.

The actor wed the 29-year-old Brazilian model and designer earlier this month (Jun12) at his ranch in Austin, Texas and admits he was overcome with emotion as he waited for his bride at the altar after his life and hers flashed before him.

The Sahara star tells news show Access Hollywood, "I was not nervous... There was no regret... I got up there and I walked out and I was still just fine and then we had that long, like 30, 40 second pause before she came out.

"I remember leaning my head back and sort of just thinking and praying, and I had gone through 42 years of my life... and looking forward to getting married one day, and then I went through 29 years of her life and it hit me that, 'Here's this woman that was once a young girl and this is every girl's dream - to find their prince.'

"To have that fairytale that a young girl has... and then it hit me, 'I'm that man!'

"As soon as my head came down, the music cued and she walked in and I lost it. It was beautiful."
