Maroon 5 cancel Indonesian gig

Written by . Published: June 23 2015

Maroon 5 have called off a gig in Indonesia in September (15) to avoid a clash with a religious holiday.

The Animals hitmakers announced on Twitter.com that due to "unforeseen circumstances" they have cancelled the show in the country's capital, Jakarta, after unwittingly scheduling it for the day of Idul Adha, also known as Eid al-Adha, a Muslim festival which is a national public holiday in Indonesia.

The post reads, "Maroon 5 will be cancelling their performance in Jakarta... Out of the utmost respect for the religious celebrations of Idul Adha and the community activities that will surround this period, we will be cancelling our concert on the 23rd of September 2015... We apologise for any inconvenience."
