Mark Salling settles lawsuit with ex-lover
Actor Mark Salling's ex-lover has dropped a sexual battery lawsuit against the Glee star, after winning a $2.7 million settlement.
Playboy pin-up Roxanne Gorzela hit Salling with the suit in 2011, claiming she confronted the TV star at his home days after he had refused to wear contraception during a consensual sex session and told him of her fears she had contracted a sexually transmitted disease from him.
Gorzela alleged he responded by pushing her to the ground, causing
bruising on her knees.
Salling had a different story - he claimed Gorzela broke into his
home and attacked him, forcing him to act in self-defense.
The sexual battery claim was dropped on Monday (23Mar15) after
Salling confessed to negligently causing his ex to fall and injure
herself.
According to TMZ.com, Gorzela will receive $2.7 million in damages,
including $1.8 million for pain and suffering. However, under the
settlement signed by a judge, Gorzela is set to get the windfall
from Salling's insurance company, State Farm.
In 2013, Salling sued bosses at State Farm over reports they
refused to pay for his defense team, even though the alleged
incident with Gorzela occurred at his house, which is protected by
the firm's homeowners policy.
Under the new settlement, Salling will ironically receive a cut of
Gorzela's damages.
