Mariah Carey was unaware of Nick Cannon's baby news

Mariah Carey only discovered her ex-husband Nick Cannon is set to become a father again last week (ends18Nov16).

The Hero singer split from Cannon in 2014 after six years of marriage, but the stars, who share twins Moroccan and Monroe, only recently finalized their divorce.

The former couple remains on good terms, but Mariah reveals Nick made no mention about rumors suggesting his ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell is pregnant with his child - until she quizzed him about it.

"I'll always be supportive of him," she tells Extra. "This (pregnancy) is all news to me, 'cause I didn't know about this till maybe last week. I asked him a question (about it) and then he kinda said yes, but didn't, and I'm like, it's kinda confirmed."

However, she is supportive of her ex, who confirmed he has a third child on the way last week.

"If he's happy that's great," she adds.

Despite their ups and downs, Nick and Mariah have made it a priority to come together as a family to celebrate holidays, birthdays and other special events with their twins, and the TV personality and businessman previously revealed he wouldn't have it any other way.

He told People.com: "I think that'll be something that we'll always embrace... and continue to make sure that we keep everyone focused on love."

Following her divorce from the America's Got Talent host, Mariah embarked on a whirlwind romance with billionaire James Packer, who proposed in January (16). However, the pair is currently on a break and the singer insists despite her love woes, she is doing "well".

"Everything happens for a reason...," she told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday (23Nov16). "Things are the way they are."
