Mariah Carey hoping to get Nick Cannon home by next week

Mariah Carey is hopeful her ailing husband Nick Cannon will be home from the hospital by the start of next week (09Jan12) after suffering kidney failure in Colorado during a family Christmas vacation.

The actor and TV personality was with his wife and their infant twins at their retreat in Aspen when he fell ill and was taken to a local hospital.

Earlier this week (beg02Jan12), Nick Cannon was transferred to a medical centre in Los Angeles, where he and Mariah Carey are based.

The singer has been at his bedside throughout the ordeal and even refused to leave his private room when doctors suggested she should let him spend time alone and rest.

And on Friday (05Jan12), she tweeted the good news about Nick Cannon's recovery, writing, "Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days... As always he's laughing and in good spirits."

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of a smiling Nick Cannon lying next to Mariah Carey on his hospital bed.
