Margot Robbie: 'Technology freaks me out!'
Margot Robbie gets so freaked out by technology she prefers writing letters to tweeting.
The 26-year-old actress has become one of the most famous stars in the world thanks to roles in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street, The Legend of Tarzan and supervillain movie Suicide Squad.
But while many of her peers stay in touch with their fans via
social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram, Margot steers
clear of them, and describing herself as "old school" when it comes
to communication.
Asked if she would ever consider online dating, Margot told
Elle.com: "I don't think I'd ever be comfortable with that because
technology still freaks me out a bit. I don't even know how to
Direct Message someone on Instagram. I still write letters. I send
thank you notes, not emails, even if I'm staying at a friend's
house or something. I'm very old school."
However, the Australian actress admits there's something about
finding love on the Internet that "fascinates" her, adding: "Tinder
fascinates me. Raya fascinates me. I make my friends pull up their
profiles and I'm like, 'Show me everything.'"
Margot's most recent role saw her star as the sexy but crazy Harley
Quinn in Suicide Squad. The actress revealed in a previous
interview she had visually based the character on Debbie Harry, and
was left stunned when the Blondie front woman got in touch with
her.
"The craziest thing happened. I've said in interviews, 'We found
this dope picture of Debbie Harry that I thought were perfect for
Harley Quinn.' Well, my managers called me and said, 'Uh, Debbie
Harry's reached out. She heard my look was based off hers, and she
signed a photograph for you, if you want it.' If I want it? Are you
kidding? It got to my house two days ago. It's the sickest thing I
own."
