Madonna on crutches after bruising bone

Madonna is on crutches after a wild night on the dancefloor left her with a bruised bone.

The Material Girl celebrated the new year (14) with an action-packed skiing trip to Switzerland, hitting the slopes with her children.

The pop superstar took a tumble on the piste in Gstaad, and her injury was aggravated on New Year's Eve (31Dec13) when she danced the night away in a pair of high-heeled shoes.

She has been left on crutches, and was spotted wincing in pain as she made her way into her New York apartment earlier this week (beg13Jan14).

Madonna's representative says, "She bruised a bone in her foot from dancing in her high heels... she'll be fine and off crutches in a week."
