Madonna can't stop her kids from trying drugs
Madonna is convinced she has no right telling her children to stay away from drugs as she has publicly spoken about dabbling with them herself.
The pop icon has been open about experimenting with illegal substances in her youth and believes it would be hypocritical for her to try and stop her children from following in her footsteps.
In a interview with U.K. chat show host Jonathan Ross, she says, "I
am not a big fan of drugs. They just don't suit me. The handful of
times I have tried drugs, many years ago, I just didn't enjoy it. I
wanted it out of me. I started guzzling bottles of water thinking
that was going to end it."
Speaking about the eldest of her four children, 18-year-old
University of Michigan student Lourdes, she adds, "I just ask my
daughter to make wise decisions, do things in moderation and to try
not to mix her alcohols. I am not going to say, 'No, don't do it,'
because that is just absurd. And it is not fair. Yeah, I did
it."
The Jonathan Ross Show Madonna Special will be broadcast in the
U.K. on 14 March (15).
