Lorde falls sick during Australian concert

Pop star Lorde dashed off stage during a show in Perth, Australia over the weekend (05-06Jul14) to vomit in the wings.

The Royals hitmaker opened her tour Down Under at the city's Challenge Stadium on Saturday (05Jul14) but she was struck down with illness midway through a song and had to run off stage.

She apologised to fans, saying, "I'm just not feeling very well, sorry can you just give me a minute," before leaving the platform. She returned five minutes later, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, and attributed her sickness to "something she had eaten".

Lorde continued her set without incident, and she later thanked fans on Twitter.com, writing, "Thankyou for your kindness and your sensitivity last night, Perth. I'll never forget it and I hope to see you again soon. Lots of love."

The singer will continue touring Australia throughout this month (Jul14). The trek was originally scheduled for April (14) but it was postponed due to ill health.
