Lohan arrives for morgue duty early

Lindsay Lohan arrived for her first day of morgue duty in Los Angeles 20 minutes early on Friday (21Oct11) after officials turned her away for turning up late the day before.

The embattled actress, who must serve 16 hours of community service at the Los Angeles County Morgue before her next probation hearing on 2 November (11), missed day one of her sentence after she arrived at the wrong entrance.

After finally getting to her destination 20 minutes late, morgue officials sent her home and she later tweeted, "I'm sorry for the confusion that I may of caused (sic) to those at the Coroner's office. Won't happen again, now I know where to go! Thank you for your help."

Lohan made sure she was on time on Friday, arriving at the morgue before dawn at 6.40am local time, covered up in a black hoodie.

Earlier this week (beg17Oct11), the actress was reprimanded by a Los Angeles judge for not serving more community service hours handed down to her in February (11) after she was convicted of stealing a necklace from a jewelry store. She was sentenced to 120 days in prison, 360 hours of community service at the Downtown Women's Center, and 120 hours at the L.A. County Morgue for misdemeanour theft and probation violation, to which she pleaded no contest.

Due to jail overcrowding, Lohan served the prison sentence under house arrest.

She incurred the wrath of Judge Stephanie Sautner on Wednesday (19Oct11) when it became clear she had missed nine community service appointments at the Downtown Women's Center. Officials there terminated her service earlier this month (Oct11).
