Lindsay Lohan was bullied at school
Lindsay Lohan has opened up about her childhood hell at the hands of bullies, revealing she suffered emotional and physical abuse from classmates while she was at school.
The Mean Girls star was moved to tears during Tuesday's (02Oct12) episode of Katie Couric's talk show Katie, which featured the story of student Whitney Kropp, who was voted her high school's homecoming queen as a cruel prank.
Lohan was so touched by her story, she reached out to the show's
host in a series of posts on Twitter.com, admitting she was also
targeted at school, with bullies mocking her showbusiness
aspirations and her father while he was in jail.
She writes, "I think what you did today on your show for Whitney
Kropp was lovely. It had me crying. I'd love to meet her. Stop
bullying... I was actually bullied (at) my public school when I
would leave to film. Whenever I came back... girls + boys would
call me names... They would also mock me because of my home
situation, when people found out that my father was in jail... They
would yell things, try to trip me & more... I moved to
home-schooling instead. In 11th grade. I stuck it out for a
while... So I can relate to the girls that you spoke with on your
show today. I appreciate you reaching out to them."
