Lindsay Lohan shows off new Billy Joel tattoo

Lindsay Lohan has added to her tattoo collection after inking Billy Joel lyrics onto her ribcage.

The troubled actress visited Los Angeles' Shamrock Tattoos parlour this week (begs29Aug11) to have a line from Joel's 1989 song I Go to Extremes etched across the right side of her torso.

The tattoo reads: "Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife/ I feel like I'm in the prime of my life."

According to gossip website TMZ.com, the Mean Girls star picked the design because it "signifies that she's focused" after a string of recent legal woes, including stints behind bars and in rehab.

Lohan already has plenty of tattoos, including a quote from Marilyn Monroe and the word 'breathe' on her wrist.
