Lindsay Lohan joins Duran Duran onstage
Lindsay Lohan made a surprise appearance with Duran Duran during the band's concert in London on Tuesday night (08Dec15).
The Mean Girls actress, who has previously released her own music, provided vocals for Danceophobia, a song on the group's new album Paper Gods, and she reteamed with them during their show at London's O2 Arena.
Lindsay teased her appearance on Instagram.com by sharing her
preparations for her stage appearance.
She posted a picture of herself trying on a blue sequinned crop top
and trousers, and wrote, "Getting ready for the stage at o2 tonight
with @duranduran," and later uploaded a snap of a bath with the
caption, "Ice bath preparations for big singing sensations
@duranduran."
She still managed to surprise the audience when she was invited
onstage to perform Danceophobia and dance around with frontman
Simon Le Bon.
Video footage uploaded to her Instagram account after the gig shows
Lindsay dancing onstage in a gold disco dress to another track. In
the caption, she added, "o2 what an honour... God works in
mysterious ways."
Alongside a picture from the show, she wrote, "God bless being a
strong woman. Anyone that says different, doesn't know anything
about a true struggle and how to succeed with good people around
helping you. #oneday(at) atime."
Simon has previously explained how difficult it was to get Lindsay
to record vocals for the track, even though she was in the British
capital starring in a West End production of Speed-the-Plow while
they were in the studio.
"We had a special part on a song called Danceophobia," he said.
"She was in town (London) doing the play Speed-the-Plow. But
getting her in the studio is not easy. It took a whole month.
Eventually we had to drive to her flat (apartment), stick her in
the car and bundle her to the studio. But as soon as she opened her
mouth it was fantastic. We would love to work with her again."
