Liam Payne apologises for high-rise building stunt

Written by . Published: January 15 2014

One Direction star Liam Payne has issued a public apology after he was pictured balancing precariously on a ledge outside his 34th floor apartment in London.

Fans were sent into a panic on Twitter.com after a friend of the British singer uploaded a photograph of Payne posing in the dangerous position, next to a drop of around 360-feet (110-metres).

The tweet was subsequently deleted and the star has now apologised for his reckless behaviour, branding it "stupid and irresponsible".

He writes, "You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken... It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry, and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this, as it is extremely dangerous."

The picture was reportedly taken over the weekend (11-12Jan14) following One Direction bandmember Zayn Malik's 21st birthday party in the British capital.
