Lady Gaga won't be thrilled when ex-fiance finds love again
Lady Gaga is worried about how she'll feel when ex-boyfriend Taylor Kinney starts dating again, because she still loves him.
The couple called off its engagement and split earlier this year (16), but Gaga and Taylor remain very close, and she tells DJ Howard Stern the actor has been very supportive of her new music.
"I hate to sound like a hippie but I kind of am one and so is he,"
she explains. "We love each other, that's it."
Asked how she would react when her "cool" ex finds his rebound
lover, Gaga told Stern, "I'm not going to throw a... party."
The singer also explained that the tracks on her new album, Joanne,
were inspired by the men in her life, past and present, adding
there's one very special guy who always comes through for her when
she's feeling low - crooner pal Tony Bennett.
"He'll call me... he has a sixth sense," she smiles.
Gaga's candid comments about Kinney emerge weeks after she was
forced to deny her tune Perfect Illusion was all about their
break-up, after referencing a failed romance in the hook: "It
wasn't love, it wasn't love, it was a perfect illusion," she sings
on the track.
However, Gaga insisted the single was not specifically about her
ex-fiance.
"I love Taylor so, so much and this song is not a hit out against
Taylor," she told SiriusXM host Andy Cohen in September (16). "This
song is just about... I'm sure not only feelings that I've had but
that he's had, that my friends have had, my sister has in her
relationship... it's a record about all of us. And I would never
use my song or want to use the public to hurt anyone that I love so
much."
