Lady Gaga attended Met Gala in sleeping pill haze

Lady Gaga took in Monday night's (04May15) Met Gala in a haze after accidentally taking sleeping pills as she hit the red carpet.

The Born This Way hitmaker was one of the stars who attended the annual glamour bash in New York City, and showed up in a Chinese wedding dress-inspired gown by Alexander Wang for Balenciaga, complete with an elaborate Spanish comb headpiece.

The crown proved to be uncomfortable for the eccentric singer, and Gaga later revealed that the medicine she took just before the event to relieve the pain turned out to be a sleeping aid.

In a post on Instagram she wrote, "I was told I took 3 Aleve PM by accident for a headache from my headpiece before the #MetBall I'm quite enjoying reliving the evening through pictures. But look at me like a champ just dozing through the night without a clue. Rallying like a seasoned fashionista."

Not only did Gaga walk the red carpet and attend the gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, she hosted an after party into the early hours of the morning with designer pal Wang at the Diamond Horseshoe venue, with pals including Madonna, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Zoe Kravitz and Jennifer Lawrence.
