Police drop battery case against Chris Brown
R&B star Chris Brown is in the clear over allegations of battery on a basketball court in Las Vegas after his alleged victim opted not to press charges against him.
The Loyal hitmaker was accused of punching an opponent during an early morning game at the Palms Casino Resort's Hardwood Suite on Monday (04May15).
Brown was named as the main suspect in the police investigation,
but his representative moved quickly to shoot down the claims
against his client, insisting an "unruly" and "uninvited" party
guest had simply been asked to leave the bash, adding, "Chris was
not in an altercation with this person."
Now it appears the alleged victim has had a change of heart about
pursuing legal action against the singer after phoning detectives
on Tuesday (04May15) to withdraw his complaint, according to
TMZ.com.
No explanation was given for the decision, but authorities have
since closed the case against Brown.
The news will come as a relief for the star, who completed his
probation relating to his 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna
in March (15).
