Kim Kardashian details robbery drama in leaked police statement
The thugs who bound and gagged Kim Kardashian in her Paris apartment during an October (16) raid seemed "inexperienced", according to the reality TV star.
Masked robbers held the terrified star at gunpoint at the No Name Hotel and swiped with valuables worth more than $10 million .
French authorities arrested 17 people in connection to the crime
last week (ends13Jan17) and filed charges against 10 suspects on
Thursday (12Jan17) and Friday (13Jan17).
Kim has yet to personally comment on the latest developments in the
months-long investigation, but on Sunday (15Jan17), the statement
she gave to police at the time of the incident was published by
editors at French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.
Her statement gives a first-hand account of the traumatizing raid,
during which she was ordered to hand over her $4 million diamond
engagement ring - a gift from husband Kanye West.
"I heard a noise at the door, like, footsteps, and I shouted to ask
who was there, but no one answered," she recalled.
"I called my bodyguard at 2.56am. Then, beyond the sliding doors, I
saw two people arrive with the gentleman from reception, and he was
tied up. Both men were hooded, one had a ski mask and he had a cap
and a jacket with 'police' on it. The second man had the same
'police' clothes, but did not have any ski mask... It was the one
with the ski mask who stayed with me (during the robbery)."
Kim went on to detail how she was tied up with "plastic cables" and
had tape wrapped around her hands, her mouth, and her legs, before
she was moved to the bathroom and placed in the bathtub.
The 36-year-old also suggested the men seemed "a bit
inexperienced", as she was able to successfully remove the tape
from her hands and mouth moments after the gang "ran away".
Kim told police she was not hurt, and expressed her desire to
return to her family as soon as possible.
According to the leaked report, other items stolen during the heist
included diamond earrings, bracelets, and a necklace bearing the
name of her son, Saint.
