Kelly Rowland glad she waited to have children
R&B star Kelly Rowland is thankful she didn't rush into motherhood because she may never have found her "amazing" husband Tim Weatherspoon.
The former Destiny's Child singer became a first-time mum to son Titan in November, 2014, six months after she wed her manager beau in a ceremony in Costa Rica.
Kelly, who was previously engaged to former footballer Roy Williams
in 2004, admits part of her regrets not starting a family sooner,
but the 35-year-old is happy to be experiencing parenthood with Tim
by her side.
"I'm still learning how to balance it all, but I have an amazing
husband, and I couldn't do it without him," she gushed to talk show
host Steve Harvey.
"He's so handsome, but he's my best friend in the whole wide world
and we just made this beautiful seed, Titan, and I just love being
a mum. I wish I would have done it sooner, but I'm so happy that I
waited because I chose the perfect man to be a father, to be a
great husband, to be a great leader of my household, and we're just
partners."
Kelly reveals Tim was the one who picked out their little boy's
unique moniker, and she is starting to believe he really is "living
up to the name", which originates from the giant deities in Greek
mythology.
"I told Tim, if I have to do the pushing and I'm carrying, and I'm
feeding (our child)... he's gotta at least name the baby," she
smiled. "And for him it was just easy, he was like, 'We're gonna
name him Titan.' I was like, 'Oh, that's a beautiful name', and now
I'm like, 'OK, he's tearing up our house!'"
"This morning, he saw my make-up around and he just took it and was
like, (smearing it around)..." Kelly said. "It's like, there's
sound effects when he does everything. He's just like, 'Here's this
truck, I'm gonna throw it at your head. Arghhhh!' It's so dramatic,
because he's Titan! Titan is on another level!"
