Kelly Rowland denies Ciara shade: 'Accidents do happen'
Kelly Rowland has hit back at claims she was shading Ciara by "liking" a negative comment on one of the pregnant singer's Instagram posts.
Ciara shared several snaps from her recent Harper's Bazaar shoot, which saw her showcase her baby bump while posing topless. One picture showed Ciara cradling her naked two-year-old son Future as husband Russell Wilson sat behind with his hands on her burgeoning belly. Eagle-eyed Instagram users spotted that Kelly "liked" a comment from someone who wrote underneath that snap, "This is not a cute pic... sorry... it's no different than the one with the chick and her little boy... why must everyone prove a point by being in your bday suit," but the former Destiny's Child singer insists it was an accident.
In a lengthy page on her own Instagram page, Kelly wrote: "This pic of my dear friend and her beautiful family makes my heart smile, I can’t believe how anyone would actually think I would ‘like’ a negative comment about a woman I look at as a great Mom, awesome wife, and a sweetheart of a friend! Accidents do happen, and this new (heart)/like feature is WHACK #findanewstory #ILOVETHEWILSONS.”
Kelly has been friends with Ciara for years, and the pair are frequently seen out and about together. During an interview with HipHollywood last year (16), Kelly explained her love for Ciara and how they bonded over motherhood.
"She’s such a sweet woman. I remember, and I said this to her, I remember telling myself, ‘I don’t want no more friends, I love my friends, I’ve got my little crew, and I’m happy’," Kelly laughed. "And we met when we became mothers and we just bonded. I just thought she was so exceptional and just genuinely sweet and I’m just happy to call my buddy."
Kelly was also one of Ciara's bridesmaids when she wed Russell last July (16).
