Kelly Clarkson's rep dismisses video copying claims

Written by . Published: November 01 2011

Kelly Clarkson's representative has brushed off allegations she stole the idea for her new music video from a little-known singer/songwriter.

In the clip for Clarkson's latest single Mr. Know It All, the American Idol winner sings in front of a wall covered with newspaper articles - similar to scenes featured in Claire London's Color Me video.

A friend highlighted the visual similarities to London, who responded by pointing out that her video debuted in May (11).

London states, "I don't want people to think that I copied her. Mine came out before, but sometimes people don't notice that."

But Clarkson's rep has moved swiftly to address the potential controversy, telling the New York Daily News, "I can assure you that neither Kelly nor the director of her video was inspired by Claire London."
