Kelis makes $400,000 dent in tax bill

Kelis has moved closer to paying off her huge tax bill by handing over $400,000 to officials.

The Milkshake hitmaker was accused of owing a total of $741,000 in state taxes in New York and California stemming from as far back as 2004.

Last month (Aug13), officials at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed three separate tax liens, and noted that she had paid back $391,967.

She still owes the remaining amount, according to TMZ.com.
