Katy Perry's game-filled friendship with Kate Hudson

Katy Perry has struck up a rather unexpected friendship with Kate Hudson after the two stars realised they share almost identical names.

The Teenage Dream hitmakers birth name is Katheryn Hudson and even she can't believe that one of her closest pals shares her identity.

In an interview with SiriusXM on Tuesday (15Oct13), Perry gushed about her actress buddy and their playful friendship.

She said, "We are buds and we get along. When we text, it's like, 'Hudson here'. And she is super cool, she is gorgeous, to die for."

And whenever the two Kate Hudsons get together, Perry reveals they ditch their Hollywood lifestyles and opt for low-key game nights at home.

She added, "We have become friends and go to game nights together. We play this game called Mafia. We play it all the time. We stopped going to clubs and we started staying home and having game nights, which is really fun."
