Katy Perry blacks out Twitter page after Donald Trump election win
Katy Perry has joined a social media black-out movement to protest the outcome of the U.S. election.
Following Donald Trump's shock victory on Tuesday night (08Nov16), the Roar singer turned her Twitter profile picture and cover photo to a pure black image to show her support for the #TwitterBlackout initiative adopted by critics of the new U.S. President elect.
She also urged her 94 million followers to "MOVE", tweeting, "Do
not sit still. Do not weep... We are not a nation that will let
HATE lead us... Fight for what is RIGHT."
Perry has been one of the biggest celebrity supporters of Trump's
Democrat rival Hillary Clinton throughout the election campaign and
was with the politician on election night.
Katy also performed in support of Hillary at the Democratic
National Convention and other rallies, and hit Halloween parties
dressed as her political heroine.
