Kat Graham shares 'short girl' style tips

Actress Kat Graham has come up with several innovative ways to make herself appear taller.

The 26-year-old The Vampire Diaries star stands at just 5'2", but she uses shrewd fashion techniques to put outfits together to heighten her stature, noting wearing high-wasted pencil skirts seems to lengthen the body beyond belief.

"Anything where the waist is showcased, so you elongate your legs (is good for making you look taller)," she tells Entertainment Tonight. "It's my little trick for us short girls."

Kat is known for reinventing her style and she often appears to transform depending on the outing or the season.

This summer she is preparing to soak up the sun by wearing clothes made out of white and nude colored fabric, as well as sporting a particular style of t-shirt she can't live without.

"You have to kind of find something that works for your body," Kat insists. "I always wear a lot of crop tops."

But harmful UV rays from the sun is something she tries to avoid at all costs and to prevent too much sunlight from blinding her, Kat will be wearing a host of cute sunglasses throughout the summertime.

However, don't expect Kat to shell out hundreds or even thousands of dollars on just one pair of shades.

"I might lose my glasses or sit on them. I'm extremely clumsy," she admits. "I'm sorry. I'm not going to pay $400 (for one pair of sunglasses)."

Kat currently serves as the face and ambassador for Foster Grant Sunglasses, and most of the brand's shades sell for under $30 .

And in addition to the budget-friendly price of Foster Grant's products, she also likes the fact there are so many options to choose from.
