Kanye West respects French paparazzi for keeping quiet on the job
Rapper Kanye West has lavished praise on the paparazzi in Paris, France for showing "respect" to celebrities by staying silent and keeping their distance, three days after clashing with snappers outside his Los Angeles home.
The Stronger hitmaker has become embroiled in a number of arguments and altercations with photographers in California in recent months, and his latest incident occurred in the early hours of Friday (27Sep13), when he blasted one cameraman as a "blood sucking mosquito" and a "bully" for hurling questions at him on his doorstep in the middle of the night.
He jetted out to Europe this weekend (28-29Sep13) to attend Paris
Fashion Week with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian, and his anger
towards the paparazzi seemed to have disappeared by Monday
(30Sep13) when he was filmed by local snappers on the streets of
the French capital.
In video footage of the encounter, West can be seen telling the
press not to pepper him with questions, because he has no problem
with them just doing their jobs and simply shooting the film.
In the clip, he says, "Don't ask questions, just take the video.
Don't do like the L.A. (paparazzi)... I like how you guys do, you
guys have total respect for yourselves, you have respect for the
people that you're photographing and you also take time off, like
at eight o'clock, you're not round people's houses, stuff like
that, so I just really appreciate and respect that, and I
understand that you have to make a living."
West is then shown approaching the videographer and shaking his
hand before walking off.
The hip-hop star is reportedly seeking to press charges over
Friday's incident outside his Los Angeles pad.
He is also currently facing charges himself of battery and
attempted grand theft relating to an altercation in July (13), when
he allegedly tried to grab the camera out of photographer Daniel
Ramos' hand and wrestled him to the ground at Los Angeles
International Airport. He has denied the allegations, citing
self-defense for his actions.
