Azealia Banks dumps Disclosure collaboration
Rapper Azealia Banks has axed a collaboration with British electronic stars Disclosure from her upcoming album after accusing them of making "rude" comments about her in an interview.
The 212 hitmaker teamed up with brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence to work on a track this summer (13), and she took to her Twitter.com blog to boast about their chemistry, branding it the "greatest studio session EVAR (sic)".
However, Disclosure played down the hype surrounding their joint
project in a subsequent interview in June (13), stating, "I think
she's kind of taken to Twitter quite heavily with the fact that
she's meeting with us... People now think that we've made the
greatest song of all time, and it doesn't even actually have a
chorus yet."
Their comments angered Banks and the rapper has since decided to
drop their tune from her forthcoming debut release, Broke With
Expensive Taste.
She tells TheAUReview.com, "I did something with Disclosure but
they were really rude in an interview, so I canned it. I might leak
it though, and to be honest, I've got better stuff on my
record."
When asked if the track could feature as a B-side to a future
single, she sarcastically quipped, "Yeah, it can be an F-side - a
F**k You-side."
