Justin Bieber credits New York pastor for life lessons

Justin Bieber has credited New York pastor Carl Lentz for his life turnaround, insisting his 'time out' with the Hillsong Church leader and his family was just what he needed.

The God-fearing Baby singer realized his head was in the wrong place after a series of legal issues and bad publicity, and reached out to Lentz for help.

"Something clicked one morning and I was like, 'Yo, this is not me'... so I reached out to some people I really know care about me and they brought me in and I stayed with their family for a couple months and literally did regular stuff; hung out with their family, ate dinner with them," he tells Access Hollywood.

"He (Lentz) put his arms around me, and the way he lives his life is really what he talks about... When I go to his home, I feel really loved."

The pastor offered the pop star a lot of advice and mantras to live by, but one thing really stuck: "You have to give it all you've got," Bieber states.
