Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. had two heavyweights in his corner for Saturday night's (03May14) fight with Marcos Maidana - Justin Bieber and rapper Lil Wayne helped escort the sportsman to the ring in Las Vegas.

Mayweather prepared for the fight by hanging out with his celebrity pals in his dressing room at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Photos of the trio together were posted on Bieber’s Twitter and Instagram pages minutes before he and Lil Wayne joined the boxer for his walk to the ring.

Lil Wayne performed his new song Believe Me as he stepped out with his pal. Mayweather had previously posted a photo of the rap star recording the track, which was released on Saturday morning, with Drake.

Bieber and Lil Wayne weren't the only big celebrities cheering the boxer on - Rick Ross and 2 Chainz escorted him to the pre-fight weigh-in on Friday (02May14).

Meanwhile, R&B singer and actor Tyrese Gibson performed the National Anthem before the fight, stating, "This is on behalf of a racist-free America," referencing the recent controversy surrounding Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling following racist comments he made in a leaked audio interview with an ex-girlfriend.

Mayweather, Jr. won the fight by majority decision.
