JONATHAN GROFF FELL FOR ACTING DURING SCHOOL TRIP

Jonathan Groff fell in love with musicals at the age of ten - and immediately abandoned his trumpet-blowing hobby to pursue a career on the stage.
The Glee star was a keen horn player as a boy, and teachers hoped he would work towards a permanent place in an orchestra.
But a school trip to see classic musical Annie Get Your Gun in 1995 had a profound effect on Jonathan Groff - and he vowed to become an actor instead.
He tells Vogue, "I was sitting in the audience and the intermission came and I couldn't believe there was a second act. I mean, it was too good to be true.
"From that point on, I was a total theater geek. I played the trumpet, and I remember my teacher coming over to me and saying, 'Some day you're going to be in that pit playing the trumpet.' And I thought to myself, 'Oh no, no, no - I'll be on the stage.' I just had this instinct that that's how it was going to go down."
