Jessica Alba named in creative business moguls list
Jessica Alba has been named on a list of creative business moguls after starting up her own company.
The actress launched website Honest.com in January (12), through which she aims to let parents know what ingredients and chemicals are used in baby foods and products.
She ranked in 17th place on the Fast Company's The 100 Most
Creative People in Business 2012 after co-founding the web service
with The Honest Company's Brian Lee.
Alba sought help from a parenting author after reading a book while
preparing for parenthood.
She tells Fast Company, "I read a book called Healthy Child Healthy
World when I was seven-and-a-half months pregnant, and my eyes were
opened to all of the toxic chemicals that are in everyday household
and baby products. So I went to the author of that book,
Christopher Gavigan, and I hounded him for a year. I said, 'I
appreciate you've given me a handbook, but you haven't given me a
solution. Let's make the solution.'"
