Jennifer Lopez signs to RedOne's record label
Jennifer Lopez has given producer Redone a big business boost - she has signed for his record company.
The man behind Lady Gaga's hits Poker Face and Bad Romance launched 2101 Records, which is distributed by Universal Music's Capitol Records, in 2010, and now he's landed his first superstar after previously boasting a handful of rising acts on his roster.
RedOne teamed up with Lopez on her 2011 album Love?, which was
distributed by Island Records, and it appears Lopez was impressed
with his way of working - she has inked a deal with his label to
release her upcoming release.
RedOne says, "This is like a dream come true for me. It was amazing
to be able to work with Jennifer on so many great records over the
past two years and now it is such an honour to have her on my
label.
"She is a creative inspiration and a true global superstar artist
who brings so much to everything she does. I feel that this is
historic and a wonderful opportunity to launch 2101/Capitol in this
way."
