Jennifer Lopez's kids changed her mind on Booty
Jennifer Lopez was hesitant to take on steamy song Booty until her young kids convinced her the track would be a hit.
The singer/actress' new single celebrates her famous behind, but Lopez admits she was wary of recording a song that highlights only the physical attributes of women.
She tells Access Hollywood, "When I first heard the song I didn't
want to do the song. For the same reasons everybody else thought,
you know it's reducing myself to something, it's just about the
booty and all that.
"But I played it in the car with my kids and they loved it
immediately. I was ready to throw it into the garbage. I said, 'You
know what, this is a fun song.'"
Lopez goes on to insist the track, which features the lyrics,
"Mesmerised by the size of it... Throw up your hands if you love a
big booty," is actually very positive.
She adds, "At the end of the day, I thought this is empowering,
this is fun. Why after a certain age you have to stop having fun or
being sexy or you have to stop living? It doesn't have to be at or
30 that it's over... This is good for women."
