JAY-Z calls out Kanye West on new song
Jay-Z is calling out Kanye West on his new album for badmouthing the rap icon and lashing out at his wife Beyonce during an onstage rant last year (16).
The Stronger star famously took aim at the hip-hop supercouple during one of his troubled concerts, just days before he canceled his Saint Pablo Tour and was hospitalized for a mental evaluation in late November (16).
The longtime pals subsequently appeared to have patched things up and were seen celebrating together at a birthday party for JAY-Z and Beyonce's five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy earlier this year (17).
However, the 99 Problems hitmaker has now addressed the fall out with his protege in public on his new song, Kill Jay Z.
"You walking around like you invincible/You dropped out of school, you lost your principles/I know people backstabbed you, I felt bad too," he raps on the opening track to his new 4:44 album.
He continues, "But this... attitude ain't natural/But you ain't the same, this ain't KumbaYe (sic)/But you got hurt because you think KumbaYe..."
Kanye has yet to respond to JAY-Z's remarks, but during his onstage rant in Sacramento, California, he alleged Beyonce had refused to perform with him at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards unless she was named the winner of the Video of the Year honor, over fellow nominees Drake and Kanye. He also implored JAY-Z to call him before bizarrely pleading with the rap mogul not to send "killers" after him.
Kanye scrapped the remainder of his show after just four songs and subsequently canceled his tour before he was admitted to hospital to reportedly be treated for exhaustion and sleep deprivation.
