Jay-Z auctioning basketball jerseys for charity
Rap superstar Jay-Z is auctioning off limited-edition replicas of the personalised Brooklyn Nets jersey he wore for his recent homecoming concerts in New York to benefit charity.
The 99 Problems hitmaker, real name Shawn Carter, returned to his native Brooklyn last month (Sep12) to officially launch the Barclays Center, the new home of his Nets basketball team, with eight sold-out gigs.
He performed each show wearing a black and white Nets jersey
bearing the number four and his last name, Carter, and now he's
offered up 10 signed replicas to raise funds for the Shawn Carter
Foundation, which aids financially-strapped students.
Jay-Z is a minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets and was instrumental
in helping to relocate the team from New Jersey this year (12).
